What are the penalties for non-compliance with NIS2?
The sanctions provided for by NIS2 are dissuasive and proportionate to the seriousness of the breaches. For “essential” entities, fines can reach 10 million euros or 2% of global annual turnover (whichever is greater). For “important” entities, sanctions can go up to 7 million euros or 1.4% of global turnover.
Beyond financial sanctions, managers can be held personally responsible in the event of a serious breach, with consequences for their civil and criminal liability.
